“In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice. Churches should be open where possible but with no public worship services taking place.”
At St Giles’, along with other churches and cathedrals, the building will be open on Sundays from 11am to 1pm to allow people to come in and light candles. There will be prayer cards and instructions about how to keep safe, and (more importantly) how to keep others safe. Thank you in advance for observing robust hand hygiene and observing current government advice on safe distances from other people.
Anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), those living with someone who has symptoms, elderly people over 70 and anyone with underlying health conditions or a long-term health condition; should be practicing self-isolation and must stay at home.
Please continue to pray together from home. For more information and advice, please see the Church of England response to the Coronavirus here.
With love and prayers (especially for Mother’s) this weekend….
