There are always plenty of jobs to do at St Giles’ – and we need your help!
We have a team of church cleaners and gardeners who try to keep St Giles’ looking clean and bright. We’re always looking for help here as St Giles’ is a big church to maintain. We also have a committee who meet to discuss building matters and if you are a tradesman who could help us in any way we’d love to hear from you. Finally, the Friends of St Giles’ charity works to maintain the building financially so if you’re not able to volunteer manually, you could help to support us by becoming a member.
Music & Events
St Giles’ hosts a number of big events throughout the year. We’re always looking for helpers to greet people at the door, run the box office, help at the bar or help with staging / setting up. If you are a musician, please get in touch with our music director who is always looking for choir members (or deputies) and soloists. And even if you’re not a musician, why not try bell-ringing?
Work Experience & Duke of Edinburgh Award
We welcome students for work experience and those who are undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award. We recently organised work experience for a musical student who shared his time between St Giles’ and Bishop & Sons organ builders, the firm who maintain our historic pipe organ. Another student volunteered to help the bell-ringers, the gardeners and Camberwell Choir School as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award. Please do get in touch with us if you’d like to know more.
