Camberwell Choir School (CCS) is a community music project for children and young people aged 0-18. Group sessions in music making cost from just £1 a week and individual and small group tuition on piano, violin, guitar or drums is available at low cost.
Although CCS was set up as a parish project and is still supported by St Giles’, CCS welcomes children of all faiths and none. There is no specific religious teaching. Meeting on Saturdays during term-time in St Giles’ Parish Hall, a typical day at CCS consists of:
10.30am – 11am Mini Music (0-3) with musical games; story-telling; sound exploration.
11am – Noon Music Club (4-6) with singing; rhythm work; exploring instruments.
Noon – 1pm Juniors (7-9) Group activities. Listening and developing musical skills. Instrumental.
1.30pm – 2.30pm Seniors (10-14) As Above.
