From an organ recital by Charles Wesley to some of the best Jazz in London, St Giles’ has a rich history of music.
Music enriches our worship at St Giles’ and every week, hundreds of people hear music, perform it or practice it in our church.
We have:
3 choirs associated with the church
A world renowned jazz club that has been attracting musicians and audiences from around the world for 25 years
A regular programme of concerts, silent film and classical music
The Director of Music at St Giles’, Ashley Valentine, regularly arranges both religious and secular musical events, with Evensong and the Christmas Carol services, a regular fixture in the Camberwell calendar.
Over 20 children receive music lessons from Ashley, whether that be piano and organ classes or singing tuition.
And of course, we have Organoke, which was started as a venture to save the historic listed Organ, designed by Charles Wesley.
All this means St Giles’ is a very musical place – so much so that we have our own website, www.musicatstgiles.com.
